About The Position

The Porter works with the Service Department moving vehicles around the dealership lot and retrieving vehicles to and from customers when service is needed or completed. This role involves preparing vehicles for service by protecting interiors, communicating vehicle issues to service personnel, and maintaining an orderly lot. The Porter is also responsible for shuttling customers to and from their destinations and maintaining the appearance of vehicles.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, road signs, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, supervisor and co-workers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Preparing vehicles to be serviced by putting down mats and plastic to protect interiors.
• Communicating issues with the vehicle to service personnel.
• Moving vehicles not currently being serviced and keeping an orderly area so that vehicles can be easily found and moved.
• Using good judgment and safe driving skills while being courteous to customers.
• Shuttling customers to their homes, places of business, or designated areas and then picking them up after their vehicle is serviced in a timely manner.
• Maintaining the vehicle’s appearance and notifying the manager if the vehicle requires servicing.
• Other duties as assigned.
