Porter - Prevailing Wage
About The Position
We are looking for a highly motivated and engaged Porter to join one of our Manhattan properties. This role is responsible for cleaning common areas and vacant apartments, maintaining exterior areas, collecting and sorting trash, and performing minor handy work such as changing light bulbs, replacing blinds, and small paint touch-ups. The position is governed by the prevailing wage schedule for building service employees published by the Office of The Comptroller, City of New York, which dictates the rate of pay and terms of employment. Employees receive 32 hours of unpaid safe and sick leave available immediately upon hire and refreshed annually.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year or more of Porter experience (building cleaning experience will be considered)
- Heavy lifting (50+ lbs.) is required
- Must be available to work weekends, overnights and/or overtime
Responsibilities
- Cleaning common areas and vacant apartments
- Maintain exterior areas
- Collect and sort trash
- Salt and shovel snow during inclement weather
- Minor handy work may include changing light bulbs, replacing blinds and small paint touch-up jobs
