About The Position
The Porter position will ensure that all community property grounds are clean on a daily basis. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of property grounds, including areas like the pool, laundry rooms, dumpster areas, recreation areas, general grounds, and walkways. The position also includes tasks such as trash-out of vacated apartments, assisting with physical property maintenance, cleaning storage rooms, distributing resident communications, and maintaining awareness of utility and safety features. Additionally, the role requires sprinkler repair and adjustment.
Requirements
- High school diploma/ equivalent OR 1 year of practical experience with demonstration of required skills
- To work at other Foundation Communities properties in the Austin area as needed
- Ability to understand English
- An occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials can be expected. May be asked to clean up bodily fluids with appropriate training and personal protective equipment provided.
Responsibilities
- Remove litter and debris daily from all areas of the property (areas include: pool area, laundry rooms, dumpster area, recreation areas, general grounds, and walkways to, from and in between buildings)
- Trash out vacated apartments (remove abandoned furniture, trash, boxes, etc.)
- Assist with various physical tasks (.e. tearing down fences, digging trenches, etc.)
- Assist with make-readies
- Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of storage rooms
- Distribute resident communications
- Maintain awareness of utility meter cut-offs, sewer clean-outs, and safety precautions
- Repair and adjust sprinklers
