About The Position

The position is responsible for maintaining proper service and keeping tables clean and properly set up. Works in conjunction with servers to maintain proper guest service. The role involves stocking and maintaining bread stations, bar, and breakdown areas, serving water, offering bottled water, and delivering fresh bread and butter to arriving guests. It also includes bringing ice to the bar and service station, clearing tables of dirty dishes, linen, and silverware, and transporting them to the kitchen. The Porter is responsible for clearing and resetting tables, sanitizing them, and resetting them with clean utensils and appropriate plates. Additionally, the role requires maintaining a clean and organized drop-off area and dish room, developing positive guest relations, resolving minor guest disputes, and assisting in ensuring the safety and security of guests and employees. Knowledge of special events and promotional activities is also part of the role, as is completing all company-required training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to use tea, coffee, and espresso machine.
  • Ability to read and write simple instructions.
  • Ability to have basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all coworkers and guests.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a Louisiana Responsible Vendor's card and Calcasieu Parish Bar Card.
  • Ability to obtain and hold any and all licenses, certifications, insurance coverage or any other indemnifications which may be required by the company for the successful completion of the duties associated with this position.

  • Some college courses in Food & Beverage or one year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Stock and maintain bread stations, bar and breakdown area.
  • Serve water, offer bottled water, and deliver fresh bread and butter to arriving guests.
  • Bring ice to bar and service station and maintain as needed.
  • Clear tables of dirty dishes, linen, silverware, and transport to kitchen via bus cart.
  • Clear and reset tables; sanitize tables completely, reset with clean polished utensils and appropriate plates; whip chairs when needed and replace centerpieces.
  • Keep drop off area and dish room clean and organized throughout shift.
  • Develop and maintain positive guest relations, including resolving minor guest disputes.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety and security of all guests and employees.
  • Possess knowledge of all special events and promotional activities available to guests.
  • Complete all company-required training within designated time frames.
  • Assist host with seating and table arrangements when necessary.
