About The Position

The Porter conducts facility maintenance duties and customer interface, assists with equipment service and performs general housekeeping tasks to keep buildings and property clean and orderly. This is a full-time, in-person position in Indianapolis, Indiana, scheduled Monday through Friday for 40 hours per week. The stated second-shift hours are 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to walk, stand, pull, climb, bend, reach, and stoop for extended periods.
Ability to lift 20–45 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools.
Good written and verbal communication skills; communicate clearly, concisely, courteously, and professionally.
Ability to work a flexible schedule or overtime as required, including shift rotation.
Ability to collaborate and work in a team-based environment.
Ability to work with colleagues at different levels, with a focus on customer service.
Ability to act competently in emergencies.

Responsibilities

Perform routine custodial duties, including sweeping and mopping floors by hand or with a powered scrubber.
Help keep the building free from indoor pests.
Empty trash receptacles and dispose of trash in compactors or dumpsters.
Clean entrances and outside areas to maintain the outer premises.
Dust and disinfect surfaces and wash windows.
Identify and perform minor repairs; paint as needed.
Maintain inventory of cleaning agents and equipment.
Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff.
Keep the work area safe, clean, and orderly.
Accompany third-party vendors on site as needed.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the department lead, supervisor, manager, or senior leadership.
