About The Position

Sycamore Meadows Apartments is hiring a Porter/ Housekeeper in Ypsilanti, MI. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the apartment property, ensuring it remains neat and welcoming for residents. The position also involves assisting the maintenance team with various tasks.

Requirements

  • Clean and remove debris from walkways, parking lots, and outdoor areas.
  • Empty trash cans regularly.
  • Maintain tools and equipment; ensure safe and proper use.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal (if applicable).
  • Support maintenance staff with light tasks as needed.
  • Inspect vacated units and create a punch list of needed repairs.
  • Paint walls, patch holes, and touch up surfaces.
  • Replace or repair appliances, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and hardware as needed.
  • Test and ensure all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are functioning.
  • Install blinds, doors, smoke detectors, and other fixtures.
  • Communicate with property management and maintenance staff about unit status and timelines.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and request materials as needed.
  • Ensure units meet cleanliness and safety standards before move-in.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain dumpster and trash areas
  • Assist the maintenance team with light tasks when needed
