About The Position

Under pharmacist supervision, supports the pharmacy department and medical practices in ensuring adherence to medications and working with payer partners to help with pharmacy related metrics. Coordinates with pharmacists and clinical team members system-wide, pharmacies as well as external healthcare partners. Key job duties may consist of patient chart reviews, telephonic outreach and communication, medical record documentation, and data collection and management. Works with patients, pharmacies and clinical teams to resolve barriers to medication access. Exercises sound judgement, anticipates potential issues and challenges in common situations and applies standard policies and procedures to determine solutions or escalation. Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards in all communications and documentation.

Requirements

• 2+ years relevant experience preferred.
• Absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.
• Strong mathematical calculation skills.
• Working knowledge and skills as a pharmacy technician in assigned areas and ability to work within established procedures under moderate supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective customer service skills.
• Intermediate proficiency typing and using Microsoft Office applications.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.
• Pharmacy Technician National Certification required unless enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Exercises sound judgement, anticipates potential issues and challenges in common situations and applies standard policies and procedures to determine solutions or escalation.
• Maintains confidentiality and upholds HIPAA standards in all communications and documentation.
• Prioritizes workload effectively to meet volume demands while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Communicates professionally with patients, providers, and pharmacies.
