About The Position

The Mass General Brigham Population Health Services Organization offers a one-year fellowship, with the possibility of a second year, for board-eligible graduating residents interested in population health, value-based care, health system transformation, and clinical leadership. The fellowship begins in July 2027 and is intended for clinicians completing residency training by that time. Fellows spend approximately 30% of their time in clinical practice and 70% with the Population Health Services Organization, combining didactic training, mentorship, project development, program implementation, data analysis, and collaboration with clinical and operational teams. The Fellow joins a multidisciplinary team working to improve outcomes across Mass General Brigham through value-based care strategies, care model innovation, performance improvement, health equity initiatives, and operational excellence. The role provides experience understanding how programs are designed, implemented, measured, and scaled across a large integrated health system. Fellows develop and lead population health projects, use evidence and data to recommend improvements, and prepare deliverables for leadership review. The structured curriculum covers population health strategy, care transformation, health equity, analytics, quality improvement, implementation science, leadership, health policy, payment models, and health system finance. The Fellow receives regular feedback and coaching from clinical and operational mentors and develops a learning plan aligned with long-term career goals. The position reports to the Fellowship Program Director. Project-specific supervision and mentorship come from population health medical directors, operational leaders, and other subject matter experts. The work is hybrid, combining clinical practice, virtual and in-person meetings, project work, and onsite collaboration. Travel to Mass General Brigham clinical, administrative, or community sites may be required as needed. The position is based at 399 Revolution Drive, has a day shift, and is scheduled for 40 hours weekly. The annual pay range is $84,579 to $118,458.
