About The Position

The Mass General Brigham Population Health Services Organization seeks a Population Health Fellow for a one-year fellowship, with the possibility of a second year based on program needs, fellow goals, and funding. The program is intended for board-eligible graduating residents completing residency in July 2027 who are interested in population health, value-based care, health system transformation, and clinical leadership. The Fellow will join a multidisciplinary team working to improve outcomes across Mass General Brigham through value-based care strategies, care model innovation, performance improvement, health equity initiatives, and operational excellence. Fellows spend approximately 30% of their time in clinical practice and 70% with the Population Health Services Organization, including didactic training, mentorship, project development and implementation, data analysis, and collaboration with clinical and operational teams. The fellowship combines project-based learning, clinical practice, and a structured educational curriculum covering population health strategy, care transformation, health equity, analytics, quality improvement, implementation science, leadership, health policy, payment models, and health system finance. Fellows receive coaching and feedback from clinical and operational mentors and develop a learning plan aligned with their career goals. The role is hybrid, with onsite presence at Mass General Brigham corporate headquarters and other clinical, administrative, or community sites as needed. It includes clinical practice, virtual and in-person meetings, project work, and onsite collaboration. The Fellow reports to the Fellowship Program Director; project-specific supervision and mentorship come from population health medical directors, operational leaders, and other subject matter experts. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week. The fellowship begins in July 2027.
