Engineering: Pool Technician
About The Position
The primary focus of a Pool Tech is to ensure the cleanliness, clarity and proper mechanical and chemical operations of all pool and spas with the Fantasy Pool Complex, Lodge, South Tower, Yacht Harbor Village and the Conservatory. This role involves daily duties such as maintaining chemical and temperature logs, vacuuming pools and spas, cleaning filtration systems, backwashing filters, cleaning traps, and inspecting tile and inner surfaces for defects. The Pool Technician is also responsible for reporting any malfunctions or defects in pool and spa equipment to the supervisor and skimming pools and spas as needed.
Requirements
- Must be over the age of 18.
- Must be able to read, write and converse in the English language.
- Must be well organized, self-motivated and a dependable person.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include HOLIDAYS and weekends.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be a team player, everything is your job!
- Ability to walk, stand, reach, crouch, bend, push/pull throughout duration of shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Previous pool maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Previous maintenance experience preferred.
- CPO a plus
- Experience working in a Maintenance role at a hotel or resort
- Knowledge of "household" repairs (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- An engaging and welcoming personality

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Maintain chemical and temperature logs for all pools.
- Vacuum pools and spas on a daily basis.
- Clean diatomaceous earth (DE) filtration systems and cartridge filter systems.
- Backwash filters.
- Clean traps on all pools and spas.
- Clean and survey tile and inner surfaces of pool and spas for any defects to report to engineering/maintenance department.
- Report any noticed malfunctions for defects in pool and spa equipment to the supervisor.
- Observe and skim pools and spas as needed throughout your shift.
