About The Position

The Pool Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overseeing the condition of the resort’s pools and spa areas. The role ensures that water features are clean, safe, and operating efficiently in accordance with health and safety standards. The technician performs inspections and maintenance, monitors water chemistry and equipment, maintains supplies and records, and supports guest safety and service. Other duties related to pool and spa operations may be assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience in pool maintenance or a related field.
Successful completion of a background check prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.
Other technical certifications, such as HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing, are a plus but are not required for the pool technician focus.

Responsibilities

Perform daily inspections of pool and spa systems, including pumps, filters, heaters, and chemical controllers.
Test and balance water chemistry, including pH, chlorine, and alkalinity, in compliance with local health regulations.
Clean pool surfaces, skimmers, and filters, and vacuum pools as needed.
Monitor and adjust pool and spa equipment; make minor repairs or notify leadership when major repairs are required.
Maintain chemical inventory and safely store pool-related supplies and equipment.
Keep accurate records of chemical usage, water quality readings, and maintenance performed.
Keep pool areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support guest safety.
Remain accessible to engineering leadership and respond promptly to pool-related guest service requests.
Learn and follow emergency procedures related to pool and water safety.
Perform other duties related to pool and spa operations as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
