About The Position

Weston & Sampson CMR is seeking an individual looking to learn the commercial pool technician industry or further their career in the commercial pool construction field. Experience is helpful but not required as we are willing to train the right candidate. This position will be located out of our Wilmington, MA location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10-hour OSHA certification or ability to obtain
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) or ability to obtain
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Positive work ethic and attitude
  • Prepared to be available to provide 24hr service for emergency repairs on a rotating basis.
  • Occasional travel overnight for various projects throughout New England.
  • Work weekends and overtime occasionally
  • Able to drive a minimum of 4 hours a day, lift a minimum of 50 pounds climb a ladder, minimum of 15 feet.
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in a wide range of repair and construction activities preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Work on pool maintenance activities on a wide range of mid-sized commercial projects (swimming pools, splash pads, fountains, spas, PVC plumbing, pool filter room work) Average project size $20,000 to $1,000,000.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of the following: Piping materials (PVC) from 1/2 inch to 12 inch diameter, Check, Gate, Ball Valves, Pumps, heaters, UV units, and chemical feed systems
  • Perform routine CPO and water quality chemical testing and site inspections utilizing iPad forms.
  • Routes material and equipment to staff and relays appropriate information about the job to staff.
  • Provide customer service and meet with customers to diagnose problems and perform repairs.
  • Complete reports in a timely manner
  • Provide recommendations for improvements in project that could be useful on future work.
  • Advance professionally by attendance at appropriate lectures, seminars and short courses
  • Inspecting and assessing the condition of pool equipment and water quality
  • Testing and adjusting pool water chemical levels to ensure they meet health and safety standards
  • Cleaning and maintaining pool filters, pumps, and other pool equipment
  • Performing minor and major repairs on pool equipment
  • Installing new pool equipment and systems, such as pumps, filters, heaters, and pool lights
  • Removing debris from pool water with nets and cleaning tools
  • Providing clients with guidance on pool maintenance tasks they can perform themselves
  • Completing logbooks and checking it for daily tests by owner
  • Documenting all pool maintenance and repair activities for record-keeping purposes
  • Communicating with clients about pool conditions and the work performed
  • Ordering supplies and equipment necessary for pool maintenance and repair
  • Filling out I Data report
