About The Position

Provide timely beverage and food service in a friendly and courteous manner at the assigned areas, including poolside and cabanas. Keep assigned areas clean and empty of glasses, cups, bottles, and dishes, while constantly look for service opportunities and follow all Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort safety and operating procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • CARE certified
  • Beverage and food service knowledge
  • Ability to carry food and beverages safely and professionally
  • Legible handwriting
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willing to learn and be adaptable
  • Attention to detail/observant
  • Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
  • Must be able to complete cash and charge transactions
  • Must be familiar with tray service

Nice To Haves

  • Six months prior customer service experience preferred
  • Six months previous experience as a server preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establish and endorse the business objectives, ethics and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
  • Present the beverage order to the bartender and writes check properly while waiting for the beverage to be prepared
  • Present the beverage to the guest
  • Present checks to the guest, accepts payment and gives change when necessary
  • Utilize “server banking” to complete alcohol sales
  • Answer questions about Harrah’s facilities and services
  • Explain and encourage Total Reward participation
  • Provide fast, friendly service to customers
  • Acknowledge and respond to customers immediately
  • Learn and greet customers by name
  • Invoke service recovery as needed
  • Pick up trash, glasses, and litter in or out of work area
  • Keep errors to a minimum
  • Anticipate customers’ needs
  • Seek coaching to improve performance
  • Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
  • Follow guidelines of the EBCI liquor laws as defined by the Tribal ABC Board
  • Present menus, suggest cocktails/cold beer/non-alcoholic beverages, appetizers and specials and then to serve food and beverages efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Greet guests and provide excellent service throughout their visit to ensure all guests' needs are met
  • Total the bill, check bills for accuracy and obtain payment from the guest
  • Set-up, maintain and close workstations in an efficient, clean and timely manner
  • Assist in setting up tables, booths and/or cabanas, including tableware and condiments
  • Ensure tables, cabanas and poolside areas are kept clean and cleared of all unnecessary items
  • Maintain the cleanliness and physical appearance of pool area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
