About The Position

The Pool Monitor is responsible for opening and closing the pool area, maintaining pool logs, ensuring the safety of pool patrons, and representing PLK Communities professionally. This role involves regular checks of pool chemicals and filter gauges, enforcing pool rules, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns, and maintaining a clean and orderly pool environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to open the pool at 9:00 AM on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
  • Ability to check pool chemicals and maintain pool logs.
  • Ability to check pool chemicals during evening closure on weekdays and three times a day on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
  • Ability to check and log pool filter gauge readings.
  • Ability to enforce pool rules and stop unsafe activities.
  • Ability to report maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, and disturbances to the Property Manager.
  • Ability to close the pool at 9:00 PM every day.
  • Ability to represent PLK Communities professionally.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous attitude.
  • Must wear PLK gear (t-shirt and/or hat).
  • Ability to record worked hours on a paper timesheet and submit it by Monday 10:00 AM.

  • Property Manager may require additional pool checks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Open the pool at 9:00 AM on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, including straightening furniture, picking up trash, and locking the gate.
  • Check pool chemicals and maintain the pool log.
  • Check pool chemicals during evening closure on weekdays and three times a day (9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 9:00 PM) on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
  • Contact emergency maintenance if pool chemical levels (chlorine 1.0-5.0, pH 7.0-7.8) are outside the proper range.
  • Check and log the pool filter gauge readings (should be between 5-25 lbs. per sq. inch).
  • Contact emergency maintenance if the filter gauge reading is above 25 lbs. per sq. inch.
  • Stop anyone from running, ball playing, pushing, wrestling, dunking, or engaging in other horseplay in the pool area.
  • Report any maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, or needed repairs to the Property Manager, including names of individuals causing unsafe conditions.
  • Report any disturbances to the Property Manager.
  • Close the pool at 9:00 PM every day.
  • During pool closure, push furniture away from the gate/fence, pick up and empty trash, remove unsafe items from the pool area, lock the gate, and place the 'pool closed' sign.
  • Represent PLK Communities in a professional manner at all times.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when dealing with residents and guests.
  • Wear PLK gear (t-shirt and/or hat) while performing duties.
  • Record worked hours on the provided timesheet and submit it to the Property Manager by Monday 10:00 AM each pay period.
