About The Position

The Pool Monitor is responsible for opening and closing the pool area, maintaining pool chemicals and logs, ensuring safety within the pool area, and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to the Property Manager. This role requires representing PLK Communities professionally and maintaining a courteous attitude towards residents and guests. The Pool Monitor will also be responsible for recording and submitting worked hours.

  • Ability to check the pool filter gauge and log readings.
  • Ability to enforce pool rules and prevent unsafe activities.
  • Ability to report maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, and disturbances to the Property Manager.
  • Ability to represent PLK Communities professionally.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous attitude.
  • Ability to wear PLK gear.
  • Ability to record and submit worked hours on a timesheet.

  • Property Manager may require additional pool checks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Open the pool at 9:00 AM on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
  • Straighten pool furniture, pick up trash, and lock the gate.
  • Check pool chemicals and maintain the pool log.
  • Check pool chemicals during evening pool closure on weekdays.
  • Check pool chemicals three times a day (9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 9:00 PM) on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
  • Contact emergency maintenance if chemical levels (chlorine 1.0–5.0, pH 7.0–7.8) are outside the proper range.
  • Check the pool filter gauge at the same time chemical readings are taken and log the readings.
  • Contact emergency maintenance if the filter gauge reading is above 25 lbs. per sq. inch.
  • Prevent running, ball playing, pushing, wrestling, dunking, or any other horseplay in the pool area.
  • Report any maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, or needed repairs to the Property Manager.
  • Report the names of individuals causing unsafe conditions to the Property Manager.
  • Report any disturbances to the Property Manager.
  • Close the pool at 9:00 PM every day.
  • Push pool furniture away from the gate/fence during pool closure.
  • Empty trash can(s) as needed during pool closure.
  • Remove unsafe items from the pool area during pool closure.
  • Place the “pool closed” sign at the entry and lock the gate.
  • Represent PLK Communities in a professional manner at all times.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when dealing with residents and/or their guests.
  • Wear PLK gear (t-shirt and/or hat) while performing duties.
  • Record worked hours on the provided paper timesheet.
  • Submit timesheet to the Property Manager on Monday no later than 10 am for each pay period.
