About The Position

Responsible for ensuring all Members have proper access to the pool area. This role involves meeting, greeting, and checking in members according to Pinehurst No 9 standards in a timely manner. The position requires knowledge of menus and daily specials, maintaining the overall presentation of pool areas by ensuring cleanliness of tables, chairs, floors, walls, and restrooms. It also includes assisting in the orientation and training of new employees, folding towels, and alerting supervisors to member suggestions, complaints, or issues. The role requires participation in employee meetings, training, and daily line-ups, maintaining guest confidentiality, observing diners to fulfill requests, and assisting guests with food selection and information about food items. Additionally, the attendant must be knowledgeable about Pinehurst's facilities and amenities to assist guests with directions and questions. Communication with Stewarding for trash pickup and Laundry for towel replenishment is essential. This role is seasonal, operating from June to early October, with hours varying according to business levels, and may require working weekends, holidays, and overtime. The position also includes gate responsibilities, such as ensuring guests are properly checked in, monitoring pool usage, assisting guests to lounge chairs, providing towel service, arranging pool furniture and umbrellas, maintaining cleanliness of the pool lounge area, and notifying management of any pool hazards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • A minimum of one year related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPR/AED certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all Members have proper access to the pool area.
  • Meeting, greeting, and checking in members according to Pinehurst No 9 standards.
  • Complete and efficient setup, breakdown, and clean-up of the pool dining areas including straightening all lounge chairs and chairs to diagram and setting out towels.
  • Knowledge of menus and daily specials.
  • Maintain overall presentation of pool areas by ensuring that tables and chairs are clean and straight, floors, walls, and restrooms are clean; light bulbs are not burnt out and condiments are clean and full according to standards.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new Employees.
  • Fold towels according to specified standards.
  • Alert Supervisor immediately if a Member has a suggestion, complaint, or issue.
  • Participate in Employee meetings, training, and daily line ups.
  • Maintain Guest confidentiality.
  • Observe diners to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meals have been completed.
  • Assist Guest with food selection and information about food items.
  • Responsible for knowledge of Pinehurst's facilities and amenities to assist Guests with directions and questions.
  • Communication with Stewarding every day at 2PM and 5PM for trash pickup and Laundry when running low on towels and when towel bins are 3/4 full.
  • Fill out requisition immediately at night so cabana can be re stocked as opening duty.
  • Perform and maintain Pinehurst's operating standards and standards of service.
  • Work holidays wherever needed even if primary outlet is closed.
  • Cross train and work in other positions as needed according to business levels.
  • Work pool gate shifts as needed.
  • Ensure guests are properly checked in.
  • Monitor proper member/guests pool usage and keep daily log.
  • Assist guests to lounge chairs and provide towel service.
  • Assist in arrangement of pool furniture and set up of umbrellas.
  • Assist in cleanliness of pool lounge area (pickup towels, trash, clean chairs, and any spills).
  • Notify any pool hazards and problem areas to Manager and/or Pool Technician.
  • Attend outlet staff meetings as scheduled.
