About The Position

Dune Deck Beach Club, located in Westhampton Beach, New York, is seeking seasonal Pool/Beach Attendants to join the Outdoor Pursuits Department. This position is available until September 30, 2026. The Pool/Beach Attendant will ensure the highest level of service is offered to club members by providing personal and professional service throughout the property concerning outdoor activities. This role is hands-on and involves organizing, instructing, and encouraging participation in all activities on property, contributing to the unique Discovery Land Company experience for members and employees.

Requirements

Previous experience in the guest service industry.
Ability to work flexible hours and on the weekends.
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Long hours may be required due to business demands.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification is a plus.
Certificates/qualifications preferred.
Experience in hospitality is preferred but not required.
Additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow the Outdoor Pursuits Standard Operating Procedure at all times.
Perform duties such as stocking, cleaning, and preparing for member excursions and activities.
Carry out weekly safety checks on beach equipment to ensure they meet SOP guidelines.
Attend morning briefings and end-of-day shut down procedures as scheduled by management.
Regularly attend, participate in, and support training and staff meetings for Outdoor Pursuits.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers.
Act as an ambassador for the property and DLC at all times, both on and off property.
Maintain adherence to and stay abreast of changes in the Employee Handbook.
Be punctual at the start of each shift and prompt with job assignments.
Assist in implementing monthly stock takes/inventories of parts and tools for the area as advised by the OP Manager.
Greet all members.
Participate in activities and games with members.
Seat members and adjust chairs and umbrellas accordingly.
Supply members with towels and ensure towels and suntan lotion are stocked at stations.
Assist members in and out of the water with water equipment.
Ensure the safety of members and children in and around the pools and beach.
Make bonfires.
Assist members and guests in all activities.
