This full-time position involves developing skills in collecting, analyzing, and integrating patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs. The trainee will learn to determine testing parameters in conjunction with physicians and follow sleep center protocols. Under supervision, the trainee will score sleep/wake stages, generate reports, and learn appropriate interventions such as CPAP and oxygen administration. Responsibilities also include assisting with various sleep studies and therapeutic interventions, acquiring polysomnographic data, monitoring study-tracing quality, and ensuring data integrity. The role involves setting up monitoring apparatus, maintaining equipment, and participating in quality assurance measures. The trainee must demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles. This role requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. It also requires demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possessing the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
