The Polysomnography Technologist - Per Diem position is responsible for preparing and calibrating equipment, applying monitoring electrodes, preparing positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fittings, and following sleep procedures to establish and document baseline values. The role involves assisting with scoring sleep/wake stages, generating reports, implementing appropriate interventions for patient safety and therapeutic purposes, and assisting with various sleep study procedures. The technologist will perform polysomnographic data acquisition, monitor study-tracing quality, and follow wake procedures to verify data integrity. Additionally, they will set up video and audio monitoring, maintain equipment, and schedule and discuss test processes with patients, educating them and physicians on sleep medicine. This role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care based on knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
