About The Position

Performs polysomnograms, reviews patient records, sets up and calibrates equipment, monitors polysomnograms, recognizes and records clinical and physiological events, scores polysomnograms, and generates reports. Ensures appropriate infection control procedures are followed, handles and cleans contaminated equipment, and complies with departmental and Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) policies. Interacts with home health care services and provides services to meet customer needs. Participates in Quality Improvement/Performance Improvement activities and performs other related duties as assigned. Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and JMH policies, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

Requirements

Must be a certified respiratory therapy technician or registered respiratory therapist or a registered polysomnographic technologist (R.PSG. T.).
Current BLS for CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Previous education in allied health or life sciences is helpful.

Responsibilities

Performs polysomnograms.
Reviews patient's records including current medications.
Sets up and calibrates equipment.
Monitors the polysomnogram.
Recognizes and records clinical and physiological events.
Scores the polysomnogram and generates report.
Utilizes appropriate infection control procedures.
Properly handles and cleans contaminated equipment.
Complies with departmental and Johnson Memorial Health (JMH) policies and procedures.
Interacts with home health care services.
Provides appropriate services to meet the needs of the department's customers as requested, including but not limited to the provision of accurate and timely information.
Participates in Quality Improvement/Performance Improvement activities as determined by JMH administration, including JMH operations improvement.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
