About The Position

The Polysomnographic Technologist performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, along with associated interventions, under the general supervision of the clinical director. The position provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders and serves as a resource to sleep center staff to support continuity of quality patient care in accordance with the Sleep Center’s objectives, policies, and procedures. The role practices at an advanced level in sleep medicine and requires an advanced understanding of neurodiagnostics. This is an onsite position at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital, with work locations at Drexel Town Square Health Center on Mondays and Thursdays and Froedtert Hospital on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The schedule is 0.8 FTE, 64 standard hours, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Holidays and weekends are not required.

Requirements

At least 1 year of prior work experience in polysomnographic testing and sleep disorders.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography; or successful completion of a polysomnography program of at least one year associated with a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility; or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician.
Knowledge of polysomnographic testing, scoring of records, therapeutic interventions, and sleep clinic modalities.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS), or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Four to five years of prior work experience in Respiratory Care and/or EEG Testing.
Associate degree in Respiratory Care.
Respiratory Care Practitioner or Registered EEG Technologist credential.
