About The Position

The Corewell Health Sleep Center is a 16-bed outpatient facility serving patients of all ages, including infants and children. The center is staffed by board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners specializing in adult and pediatric sleep disorders. Six rooms are dedicated to pediatric patients, with three equipped with cribs. The facility offers day tests such as MSLT and MWT, and can accommodate patients requiring daytime sleep studies (e.g., night shift workers). Services include Home Sleep Apnea Testing and PAP/NAP compliance diagnostic assessments. The center is unique in its ability to treat infants and is the only sleep center on its side of Michigan catering to this age group.

Requirements

• Formal training in a polysomnography program and/or enrolled in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option OR enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP online Self Study Modules required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification.
• Board Certified examinations with Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technology (BRPT), National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)- certification or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

• 1-3 years-preferred
• Knowledge of EEG interpretation and maturation changes from premature babies to old age is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under the general supervision of the Medical Director and designee.
• Perform polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services.
• Provide patient care and education.
• Perform duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician.
• May provide supervision of other staff.
