Performs the duties of a Sleep Lab Technician, scores sleep record of patient and prepares for physician interpretation. Evaluates PSG and MSLT recordings and generates a computerized PSG report. Interprets raw data, scores polysomnograms for sleep stages using standardized criteria, computes parameters such as sleep latency, sleep efficiency, and percentage of sleep stages, and analyzes apneas and arousals. Determines heart rate ranges for waking and sleeping stages, identifies and quantifies abnormalities in cardiac activity and respiration, and identifies normal/abnormal patterns, artifacts, and sleep/wake stages. Assists with marketing the sleep lab to the outside community and staff physicians, provides information to medical staff regarding test capabilities and requirements, and provides in-service education to sleep lab staff. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
