About The Position

Develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated patient care & treatment interventions under direct supervision of a registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT). Works cooperatively under the supervision and direction of a RPSGT, quality control technologists, and the sleep center leadership to master the skills necessary to perform quality sleep studies and achieve the RPSGT credential. Assists with appropriate interventions including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and bi-level airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc. Assists with all sleep center protocols and workflows as proficiency is obtained. Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, policies, protocols, and standards for an outpatient hospital department and accredited sleep center. Assists with scheduling of patient visits & procedures, reminder calls, filling vacancies from cancellation list, and proper tracking of patient reschedules, cancellations, and no shows in the EMR. Promptly reports any facility cleanliness, maintenance problem, safety hazard, equipment malfunction, supply issue, patient complaints, patient or staff injury, security concern, infection control issue, etc. to management and the appropriate supporting department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required before patient care)
  • Obtain RPSGT Registered Polysomnography Technician) within 18-months of hire (required).
  • Proficient with computers and accuracy with data entry and Microsoft Office.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.
