About The Position

NOCCCD is now accepting applications for a Political Science Instructor at Cypress College! The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s in political science, government, or international relations OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, and any ethnic studies, Juris Doctor Degree (J,D,) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area. OR the equivalent.
  • Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

  • Experience with multiple instructional modalities.
  • Experience working with transfer-oriented programs and preparing students for CSU and UC pathways.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the success and retention of diverse student populations, including women, students of color, and students with disabilities, through comprehensive teaching practices, responsive mentorship, and impartial learning strategies that promote persistence and success.
