About The Position

The Political Affairs Administrative Assistant provides confidential administrative and coordination support to the Director of Political Affairs and the Political Affairs department to ensure efficient day-to-day operations and effective service to leadership, staff, and community members.

Requirements

  • Degree in Indigenous Studies, Political Science or Humanities; or Diploma in Office Administration or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience in a fast-paced office setting; or a minimum of five (5) years of clerical experience in an office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential administrative support to the Director of Political Affairs, ensuring the Director is prepared and supported for day-to-day operations, meetings, and timesensitive priorities.
  • Manage and coordinate the Director’s calendar, including scheduling internal and external meetings, confirming attendance, booking rooms/venues, and preparing required meeting materials.
  • Prepare, format, draft, and edit correspondence, memos, briefing materials, and other documents on behalf of the Director, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and appropriate confidentiality.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for the Director (and as directed, other Political Affairs department staff), including itineraries, accommodations, and related documentation.
