About The Position
The Polisher at Avenue Sky Lounge New York is responsible for retrieving, drying, and polishing all clean dining room/lounge service ware, and distributing it to the appropriate stations. This role requires interaction with fellow team members and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality. The position involves supporting the dining room/lounge team, maintaining cleanliness of the station and venue, and complying with sanitation standards. Additionally, the Polisher will manage polishing equipment, handle waste disposal, ensure station stocking, and assist with opening and closing procedures. The role also includes reporting any breakage or damage, attending training sessions, and contributing to a positive and professional team environment.
Requirements
- Previous hospitality experience.
- Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge.
- Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate.
- Must be able to move quickly.
- Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Maintains a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards.
- Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.

Responsibilities
- Retrieves, dries, and polishes all clean dining room/lounge service ware, and distributes to appropriate stations.
- Supports the dining room/lounge team members in accommodating the needs of the guests.
- Works with dish station team members to ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Maintains general cleanliness of station and the entire venue.
- Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
- Cleans out all polishing equipment using proper cleaning chemicals and supplies when necessary.
- Changes garbage, recycling, and broken glass bins when necessary.
- Empties compost into composter when needed.
- Ensures all stations are stocked to par and informs the manager when inventories are low.
- Maintains cleanliness of restrooms when bathroom attendants aren’t scheduled.
- Properly sets-up polishing station and performs other opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including stocking side-stations and performing opening/closing side-work.
- Reports all breakage and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
- Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
- Learns by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
- Portrays a positive and professional attitude.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
- Works as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team members.
- Assists and/or completes additional tasks as assigned.
