About The Position

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Polisher to perform final polishing operations on aircraft engine components at its Whitesboro, New York manufacturing facility. The role involves removing stock to meet visual, contour, dimensional, and end-match requirements, and qualifying parts according to Cordax reports and process documentation. The Polisher works with an experienced team of Machinists and Engineers, follows safety and health policies, and uses required personal protective equipment. The regular C shift is Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Training is completed on A shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The work takes place in a manufacturing plant and includes frequent sitting, standing, and walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to remain focused on tasks throughout scheduled hours.
Self-motivated and dependable.

Nice To Haves

Prior polishing experience.
Experience in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

Operate high-speed grinding wheels, bobs, and emery belts to perform final polish operations on parts.
Operate an automatic polishing robot.
Remove stock from parts to maintain proper visual appearance, contour, dimension, and end match.
Change and dress wheels, belts, and bobs as required.
Interpret and polish parts to qualify them based on Cordax reports.
Read and interpret process sheets and polish parts to quality, guillotine, and dimensional requirements.
Polish all required gages and process sheets.
Follow safety and health policies, including using all required personal protective equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor.
