Polisher - 2nd Shift (Monday-Thursday: 3:30pm-2:30am)
About The Position
The Polisher cleans, deburrs, polishes, and grinds metal items using hand tools or powered equipment. The role includes meeting individual production goals, changing tools on power equipment, and applying abrasive compounds or other dressing to support polishing operations. The position may involve contact with hazardous chemicals and requires proper disposal of recyclable, standard, and hazardous waste. The employee may also perform other tasks needed to fulfill Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers. This is an hourly, non-exempt role on the 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. The position reports to the Polishing Team Leader.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of related experience.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety procedures.
- Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to perform physical functions equivalent to the job's High Labor Intensive Category A.
Nice To Haves
- One year of related experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deburr or polish parts using a portable grinder or buffer.
- Hold parts against an abrasive belt or buff wheel to grind, polish, or buff their surfaces.
- Maintain individual production goals.
- Change tools on power equipment.
- Apply abrasive compound or other dressing to facilitate polishing operations.
- Properly dispose of recyclable, standard, hazardous, and other waste.
- Perform other tasks as required to fulfill Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.
