Purpose: Operates diverse types of machinery in an assigned cell, to produce various types of Medical Devices, including implants. Equipment used depends on product being manufactured or operation being performed and may vary from cell to cell. Under direction of the supervisor and/or cell lead, works to ensure production requirements are met, product quality is maintained, machine maintenance schedules are adhered to and safety rules are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Operates diverse types of equipment used to manufacture various types of Medical Devices established within the manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
  • Completes tasks using technology systems such as PLM, MES, Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc.
  • Operator Asset Care on a regular basis such as, but not limited to, process machine maintenance.
  • Completes rework or reprocessing, as necessary, on products rejected by process in the specification.
  • Works with other production areas and cell leaders, as necessary, to resolve quality problems.
  • Works following appropriate safety practices and/or JSAs to prevent accidents to self or co-workers.
  • Know and follow all policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics, and compliance always.
  • Ensures that in process quality checks are completed following established quality specifications.
  • Interface with quality and other production employees to resolve problems.
  • Works in accordance with all requirements for manufacturing medical devices (e.g. FDA QSR, ISO 9000, ISO 13485).
  • Completes required documentation as required by process, and inspection sheets, work instructions, and the document traceability.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds may be required on a regular basis.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to specific procedures according to the department training plan.
  • Knows and follows all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintains the highest levels of professionalism, ethics, and compliance at all times.
  • Partners with engineering team to ensure completion of expansion & validation activities in a timely manner, acting as subject matter expert where applicable or providing correct point of contact to operator subject matter expert.
  • Follow all applicable EHS&S policies and procedures which includes PPE, work practices, and control measures.
  • Promptly report EHS&S Incidents and Good Saves Complete EHS&S training and CAPAs on-time.
  • Ensure department waste is segregated for proper disposal (recycle vs trash).
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures Performs other duties assigned as needed Polish Finisher Tasks Revision Cell Operations – responsible for being able to operate machinery and utilize manual equipment to perform the operations required for the blasting, etching, and belting processing of medical devices. Must be able to multi-task maximizing equipment cycle times preventing idle time.
  • Rework Cell Operations – responsible for being able to track, manage and rework/reprocess all work-in-process that has been flagged an uncompliant, performing all the necessary manual work with its associated paperwork and return it to the appropriate operation to continue normal processing.
  • Drag Cell Operations – responsible for operating machinery that performs plastic drag, nutshell drag(blast,etch), and ceramic drag of implantable medical devices. Must be able to keep multiple assets running efficiently to maximize drag equipment cycle time intervals. Must be able to multi-task maximizing equipment cycle times preventing idle time.
  • Prep Operations – responsible for being able to utilize manual equipment to perform the operations required for the prepping of implantable medical devices.
  • Buff Cell Operations – responsible for being able to utilize manual equipment to perform the operations required for the buffing and box buff finishing of implantable medical devices.
  • Box Cell Operations – responsible for being able to utilize manual equipment to perform the operations required for the prepping and box blending of implantable medical devices.
  • CMM/IPC Operations – responsible for being able to operate machinery to perform the operations required for the CMM inspection and in-process cleaning for the processing of medical devices. Must be able to multi-task maximizing equipment cycle times preventing idle time.
