The Oregon House Speaker’s Office seeks an experienced legislative and public policy professional to join their team as a Policy Advisor. This individual will serve as a legislative liaison and policy coordinator to the House Speaker and legislative leadership team. The Policy Advisor will help advance the Speaker’s legislative agenda by providing research, analysis, and advice on current public policy issues. This position requires a well-versed political strategist with experience tracking and monitoring legislative committees, workgroups and legislation to ensure the success of critical public policy initiatives. They will also be responsible for serving as a liaison to agencies, advocates, and other stakeholders in the legislative process. The Policy Analyst may be assigned to work in a variety of issue areas but background in natural resources, climate, and environment is a plus. This is a full-time, continuing position. The work of the Policy Analyst takes place in the State Capitol in Salem during legislative sessions and interim legislative days, with flexibility for hybrid work the rest of the year as business needs allow.
