The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is seeking a Policy Analyst, Fossil Fuel Transition, to join its International Strategy team within the IISD Energy Program. This role will support research and advocacy efforts focused on a just, orderly, and equitable transition away from fossil fuels and the cessation of public finance for fossil fuels. The candidate will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including civil society, international organizations, governments, and media. Key responsibilities include conducting policy-oriented research on public financial flows, fossil fuel transition commitments, and economic diversification; producing policy briefs, blogs, and visualizations; planning engagements with strategic partners; and presenting IISD's work to various audiences. The position aims to help countries achieve their climate and development goals by embedding the fossil fuel transition into national and global planning and ensuring the integrity of commitments to phase out fossil fuel subsidies and international public finance for fossil fuels.
