About The Position

East-West Gateway Council of Governments (EWG) has an opening for a Policy Analyst in the Research Services Department. This position will report directly to the Regional Policy Research Manager. The selected candidate will research issues in planning and policy by reviewing literature and other sources and work with partners to actively use performance measures to improve lives of people in the St. Louis region.

Requirements

Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Ability to perform research and policy analysis related to social, economic, and public policy improvements.
Ability to communicate and write effectively and perform research and analysis of demographic, economic, and political data and concepts.
Knowledge of the principles of research methods.
Retrieval and interpretation of data pertaining to population, housing, the economy, education, crime, health, government, and other related topics.
Knowledge and understanding of information systems and statistical software packages, including familiarity with statistical software such as R, SPSS, or Stata.

Nice To Haves

Experience with other analytics tools, such as geographic information systems (GIS) and tableau, would be beneficial, but is not required.
