The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is seeking a Policy Analyst for its in-country India program, based remotely in Delhi. This role supports quantitative analysis by creating and updating policy-relevant datasets, including estimating government support measures, developing levelized cost of energy estimates, and supporting system dynamics energy models and cost-benefit analysis. The candidate will also support work on state-owned enterprises or public sector undertakings (PSUs). Additionally, the Policy Analyst will conduct qualitative research by setting up and conducting consultations with external stakeholders, assisting in stakeholder management, and supporting events. The overarching goal is to shift government support from fossil fuels to renewable energy, ensuring inclusivity. The role requires a quick learner interested in sustainable development, with skills in both quantitative and qualitative research. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis on energy policies, consolidating insights for policy research reports, and collaborating with researchers and civil society organizations. Key responsibilities involve reviewing government datasets to quantify energy subsidies, supporting energy modeling exercises, engaging with national and state organizations, tracking energy policy developments, contributing to literature reviews and reports, and providing administrative support for consultations and events.
