About The Position

The Policy Analyst will support the Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) on special projects and strategic planning related to tech innovation, digital service delivery, and improved tech operations. This role involves developing and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders in the tech and innovation space, monitoring best practices and trends, and making policy recommendations on high-profile tech sector issues such as artificial intelligence, app-delivery, and drone usage. The analyst will also be responsible for writing, editing, and coordinating reviews of briefings, memos, and presentations, participating in internal and external meetings, and supporting inter-agency coordination and collaboration. Additionally, the role provides program and project management support, especially on sensitive and high-visibility initiatives, and develops and facilitates systems for City Hall coordination and coordination across Deputy Mayor teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 5+ years of experience working in technology, AI, data management, and innovation policy and programming.
• Business operations, process design, and project management experience.
• Ability to operate independently with excellent time management skills and confirmed ability to deliver on multiple, competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to effectively interact with people and partners across all levels within an organization.
• Proven ability to follow through on complex projects from ideas to implementation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and compelling presentations for an array of audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support the Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) on special projects and strategic planning related to tech innovation, digital service delivery, and improved tech operations.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders in the tech and innovation space.
• Monitor best practices, latest trends, and make policy recommendations on high-profile tech sector issues (artificial intelligence, app-delivery, drone-usage, etc.).
• Write, edit, and coordinate reviews of briefings, memos, and presentations to communicate complex policy and programmatic topics to a wide range of audiences.
• Participate in internal and external meetings with or on behalf of the Deputy Mayor to ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Support inter-agency coordination and collaboration to ensure project and program delivery.
• Provide program and project management support, especially on sensitive, logistically complex, and high-visibility initiatives.
• Develop and facilitate systems and processes for City Hall coordination.
• Coordinate across Deputy Mayor teams.
