About The Position

This role assists in researching, organizing, interpreting, and preparing written and PowerPoint presentations of information to comply with SEVP regulations, federal and state laws, university policy, and program rules. The specialist will also help with policy writing tasks, SOP revisions, workflow and process mapping, data and statistical reports, data analyses, communication initiatives and campaigns, peer mentoring, and other assigned projects. This position is ideal for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, suitable for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with policy writing and SOP maintenance for the department.
  • Create outreach and communication campaigns to spread awareness about policies and procedures.
  • Conduct research and write memos, papers, reports, and other text for a variety of compliance areas for the F-1 and J-1 programs supporting the university as an SEVP sponsor.
  • Gain high-level knowledge about federal regulations, state laws, program rules, university policy, SEVP announcements, nonimmigrant visas, and immigration.
  • Perform research tasks to understand the requirements of specific federal and state laws and to translate the requirements into common language.
  • Create compliance and program assessment checklists and monitoring programs.
  • Interview university employees and document results of interviews.
  • Assess the university's level of compliance against applicable federal and state regulations, SEVP regulations, program rules, Church and university policies, etc.
  • Review existing SOP and make necessary revisions to be approved by management and the advising team.
  • Map all workflow processes and program tasks for the international student population.
  • Perform other supporting administrative roles within the department as assigned.
