About The Position

The City of Torrance is seeking dedicated Police Services Officers to join the Torrance Police Department. This is a non-sworn public safety position that provides essential operational and administrative support to the Police Department. Incumbents perform a wide range of duties including prisoner booking and care, property and evidence management, parking enforcement, court liaison services, subpoena processing, community outreach, vehicle fleet coordination, and public assistance. The position serves as a key point of contact for the public by receiving complaints, answering inquiries, preparing reports, and assisting crime victims and community members. Police Services Officers work in a dynamic law enforcement environment where they must exercise sound judgment, maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with established procedures, and effectively interact with diverse populations. This role requires strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to perform multiple responsibilities while supporting the safety, security, and operational effectiveness of the Police Department. The Torrance Police Department is currently accepting applications from all qualified candidates to support both current and future staffing needs. Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate
  • A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License (Class C) of the appropriate class or grade

Benefits
