Under the general direction of the Deputy Chief of Police, the Police Services Administrative Support independently performs a broad range of complex administrative, operational, and technical support functions requiring considerable judgment, initiative, and discretion. The incumbent serves as the department’s primary coordinator for parking management operations, confidential executive support, departmental administration, and financial services. The position is responsible for administering and coordinating the University’s parking program, including permit administration, special event parking, parking communications, parking technology systems, parking appeals, revenue collection systems, and coordination with campus constituents and external agencies. The incumbent independently develops and implements procedures, interprets and communicates University policies and regulations, provides training, and provides work direction to student assistants and departmental personnel involved in parking operations. As the principal administrative support position for the department, the incumbent provides confidential support to the Deputy Chief of Police, manages executive calendars and travel arrangements, coordinates meetings and special events, prepares complex correspondence and reports, and handles sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism and discretion. The mission of the Public Safety Department at California Polytechnic Maritime Academy is to promote a safe and secure learning environment by working cooperatively with the campus community to enforce the laws, preserve the peace, maintain order and provide exceptional professional services to our guests and our community. The Public Safety Department consists of an Operations Division and a Support Division. The Operations Division is the Cal Poly Police Department which is a full service professional law enforcement agency that provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year round. All officers are vested with full police officer powers and are certified by the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST).
