About The Position

The City of El Cajon is seeking motivated individuals to join their Police Department as a Police Recruit. This role is part of the Regional Police Academy and involves a rigorous selection process including a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) and POST PELLETB Exam. El Cajon is a full-service city with a diverse community, known for its safe neighborhoods, parks, schools, and libraries. The department includes various sworn divisions such as Patrol, Investigations, and K9, as well as specialized task forces and support divisions.

Requirements

Must submit applications and attachments by the deadline.
Must have a valid outside PELLETB score.
T-Score must be from a PELLETB exam taken within 6 months of the PELLETB test date (on or after December 23, 2025).
T-Score must be 42.0 or higher.
Successfully complete the Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
Successfully complete the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB).
Successfully complete the Personal History Statement.
Successfully complete the Panel Interview.
Successfully complete the Polygraph.
Successfully complete the Pre-Investigative Questionnaire.
Successfully complete the Captain’s Interview.
Successfully complete the Background Investigation.
Successfully complete the Chief’s Interview.
