About The Position

This is an entry-level position in the Police Department. Recruits will attend a police academy and upon successful completion, will be assigned to patrol duties. This position requires the ability to perform all duties of a Police Officer.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of academy graduation.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a physical agility test.
• Must be able to pass a written examination.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation, including a polygraph examination.
• Must be able to pass a psychological evaluation.
• Must be able to pass a medical examination.
• No felony convictions.
• No domestic violence convictions.
• Must be of good moral character.

Nice To Haves

• Some college coursework in criminal justice or a related field.
• Previous law enforcement or military experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend and successfully complete a police academy training program.
• Upon graduation from the academy, perform all duties of a Police Officer, including patrol, investigation, and enforcement of laws.
• Maintain physical fitness and proficiency in the use of firearms and other law enforcement equipment.
• Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records.
• Respond to calls for service and emergencies.
• Engage in community policing efforts.
