About The Position

The Police Recruit position within the Police Department performs the following tasks: Learn operations of the Police Department first-hand through observation and participation in a wide variety of police activities. Serve in a training capacity while attending the Police Academy. The ideal candidate will have a passion for law enforcement and making a positive impact on the community, as well as committed to teamwork and delivering excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years old by time of academy graduation
  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to pass a police background check
  • Be able to pass a polygraph test
  • Be able to obtain an AZPOST certification
  • Possess or able to obtain a valid AZ Driver's License.
  • Create a profile and complete the AZPOST Personal History Form on https://my.azpost.gov
  • Submit AZPOST PH User ID Number prior to the testing date.
  • Pass the physical test (1.5 mile run – 14 minutes 40 seconds, Push-ups in 1 minute – 31, Sit-ups in 1 minute – 34)
  • Pass the written test (maximum time of 3 hours).
  • Pass the oral boards.
  • Pass background investigations.
