About The Position

This is a non-supervisory position that will work with the Citizens of Danville and other employees in a labor intense position representing the City of Danville. Will be responsible for providing police protection within the City of Danville along with other related duties as required.

Requirements

Extensive knowledge of the geography of the City of Danville.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Danville Police Department rules and regulations.
Ability to work with the general public in a professional, courteous, and firm manner.
Ability to understand and adhere to oral and written instructions.
Skilled in the use of firearms, motor vehicles, and police surveillance and computer equipment.
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with police staff, public officials, employees, and the general public.
Proven ability to maintain satisfactory physical conditioning levels required to perform essential job duties.
HS Diploma or GED.
Must have valid and current driver’s license.
Prior sworn police officer experience with an established law enforcement agency is required.
Current KY POPS certification is required.

Responsibilities

Required to perform police service work under direct supervision in accordance with instructions and established procedures.
Performs daily patrol activities including, but not limited to, traffic patrol, citizen complaints, accidents, and initial crime investigations.
Required to participate in general patrol duties, including response to major police, fire, and accident calls.
Must adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Responsible for preparing written reports, evaluations, and other related records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
