About The Position

Experienced Police Officer position with the Brandon Police Service. Officers begin their law enforcement career in the Patrol Section, which is comprised of four (4) Platoons. The Patrol Section operates on a 12-hour shift schedule: 2 days on, 2 nights on, and 4 days off. Platoon members are in uniform and responsible for responding to calls for service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During their shift, they primarily patrol in a single-person marked patrol unit. The general duties include maintaining peace and good order, protecting lives and property, and preventing and detecting crime. They will also address traffic problems, investigate hazardous/suspicious circumstances, provide crime prevention advice, and maintain a visible police presence to meet the community's emerging needs.

Requirements

  • Complete application must be received by Human Resources prior to the competition closing date.
  • Application must contain all requested information.
  • Four (4) or more years of Policing Experience (to start at a 1st Class Constable wage).
