The City of Lenexa police department is currently accepting applications for Police Officers and lateral transfers to join our team! Requirements

U.S. Citizen
21 years of age by first day of Police Academy
High School diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Kansas residency not required
Certified police officers from other cities, counties, and states through our lateral officer hire program.
Currently certified as police officers in their jurisdiction.
Certification must meet the training standards set forth by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC).
Pass a written aptitude test
Pass an oral board interview
Pass a polygraph
Pass a physical fitness test
Pass an extensive background investigation
Pass pre-employment drug screen and physical exams
Pass a psychological evaluation

Nice To Haves

Prior law enforcement experience
College courses in criminal justice
Military experience

Benefits

$1,300 annual ~ $50.00 per pay period secondary language stipend for those who pass a City of Lenexa proctored oral speaking proficiency test.
Shift differential – Evening shift $1.00 per hour and Night shift $1.50 per hour.
Tuition reimbursement $4,500 annual; $25,000 total lifetime reimbursement
