About The Position

The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is recruiting a Police Officer to provide patrol coverage and enforce state and local laws and park ordinances across the Georgia World Congress Center, Centennial Olympic Park, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Signia by Hilton Atlanta. The officer responds to emergencies, investigates criminal activity, provides police services to the public, and supports safe and efficient event operations. Candidates under final consideration must complete a background check, psychological evaluation, and polygraph examination before employment. The position operates in a fast-paced convention, sports, entertainment, and hospitality environment. Work may take place indoors or outdoors, across different campus facilities and event conditions, and may involve irregular hours and changing operational priorities. Officers may work nights, weekends, holidays, special events, and long hours, and must be ready to report when needed. The role requires working in inclement weather when necessary and wearing a full uniform with appropriate equipment; officers are armed and must exercise their legal authority appropriately. The job involves exposure to potentially hazardous conditions and substances, including extreme temperatures, fumes, smoke, chemicals, pathogens, violent behavior, weapons, explosives, traffic, animals, and loud noises. Physical activity includes walking, standing, turning, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling. The position may require lifting 50 pounds or more and, in certain circumstances, handling objects weighing over 200 pounds. Standard body gear and other assignment-specific equipment, such as body armor and safety gear, may be required. The Authority expects employees to demonstrate its values of authenticity, accountability, and teamwork; provide excellent service; comply with policies, procedures, safety standards, and training requirements; and contribute to a safe, inclusive, service-focused workplace.
