About The Position

The City of Beloit Police Department is seeking committed individuals to join their team as Police Officers. This department is dedicated to protecting the lives, property, and rights of all residents, and is committed to evolving through enhanced leadership, strong community relationships, and modern policing strategies. Police Officers are responsible for enforcing state laws and city ordinances, focusing on crime prevention and disorder, and providing day-to-day police services and community engagement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• U.S. citizenship at time of hire.
• 40 college level credits at time of application; 60 college level credits prior to completion of 5th year of employment as a law enforcement officer.
• Must be a certified law enforcement officer with the State of Wisconsin or have the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire and maintain such certification, including required training or statutory requirements.
• Must not have been convicted of a felony or crime of domestic violence unless granted an absolute and unconditional pardon.
• Must not have a conviction record or pending charge which substantially relates to the work of a law enforcement officer.
