This role involves performing officer duties to include, but not limited to: patrolling buildings and grounds for unlocked secured areas for after-hour entry, locking and opening doors according to schedules, providing individual and group escorts to and from parking areas, identifying and removing unauthorized individuals from property, enforcing campus parking policies/citing violations, maintaining compliance with Security policies, pursuing and detaining persons involved in criminal activity, filling out incident/offense report forms and composing narratives, giving directions to areas of facility, interacting with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff, providing vehicle assistance, patrolling the interior/perimeter of campus and parking, completing reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities, reporting and escalating situations to the Threat Management team as appropriate, providing quality customer service to Texas Health employees, visitors, and guests, greeting people with courtesy and respect using the 10/5 rule, providing directions and assistance to employees, visitors, and guests, providing general information regarding Texas Health campuses, providing transport/escorts to and from campus parking lots, responding timely to calls for service and emergency situations, assessing the situation and utilizing appropriate de-escalation measures, utilizing critical thinking skills and providing the appropriate level of force for the situation, responding to and activating the appropriate emergency response code, and interacting with and providing assistance to Police, Fire, EMS, and other emergency staff as required.
