About The Position

The Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) is seeking a Police Officer to join its team. This role is responsible for enforcing state laws, local laws, and park ordinances across the GWCCA campus, including Centennial Olympic Park, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Signia by Hilton Atlanta. Ideal candidates will embody the values of authenticity, accountability, and teamwork. Candidates selected for final consideration will undergo a background check, psychological evaluation, and polygraph examination.

Requirements

  • GEORGIA P.O.S.T. Certification in good standing.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
  • Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation.
  • Must successfully complete a polygraph examination.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull extremely heavy objects over 200 pounds such as in the event of chasing or subduing a suspect resisting arrest.
  • Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine proper course of action on own initiative.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with employees, other staff, and the public.
  • Extensive knowledge of standard police practices and techniques.
  • High degree of integrity and compliance.
  • Self-awareness.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership to the assigned unit in the areas of motivation, positive influence, and personal challenge.
  • Thoroughness in task approach, follow up and completion.
  • Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work and training of subordinates.
  • Knowledge of applicable local and state laws, and ordinances.
  • Knowledge of oral and written skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload using own initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with limited resources.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Assess, analyze, and manage risk factors in the face of uncertainty.
  • Ability to work an irregular work schedule as required to perform duties and responsibilities.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency situations and conduct investigations of criminal activities while taking appropriate action.
  • Answer calls and complaints.
  • Complete written incident reports.
  • Provide general police services to the public.
  • Patrol, observe, and prevent criminal activity (including foot, bike, and vehicle patrolling).
  • Participate in special event activities on campus.
  • Exercise crowd control and procedures.
  • Provide traffic direction and pedestrian management.
  • Complete shift requirements as assigned by the Police Sergeant or higher police authority.
  • Actively participate in and successfully complete The Authority and police training programs as required.
  • Maintain Ga POST Police (PBLE) Certification in Good Standing.
  • Accurately document and complete administrative paperwork as required.
  • Comply with The Authority policies and procedures associated with programs such as risk management, safety, and emergency management.
  • Maintain an ethical and professional image when interacting with internal and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
