Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age 20
• Valid US driver's license free of suspensions or revocations
• Pass Written Examination
• Pass Physical Readiness Test
• Pass Background Investigation
• Pass Psychological Screening
• Pass Polygraph Examination
• Pass Medical and Drug Screening

Responsibilities

• Learn basic skills and procedures needed to be a police officer.
• Under direct guidance and close supervision, perform skilled trades while attending official law enforcement classes through a POST approved Police Academy.
• Attend formal classes in the basic law enforcement training course at a City designated police academy to attain certification as a certified Police Officer.
• Complete weekly program components as evidenced by academy requirements and pass all related physical and academic tests and/or examinations.
• Complete additional required training in emergency vehicle operations, fire arms, first aid, and any other courses required by departmental policies.
• Participate in mandatory physical fitness training.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures; any disciplinary action will result in immediate dismissal.
