About The Position

Newnan Police Department is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Police Officer Trainees. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age 20
• Valid US driver's license free of suspensions or revocations
• Pass a Written Examination
• Pass a Physical Readiness Test
• Pass a Background Investigation
• Pass a Psychological Screening
• Pass a Polygraph Examination
• Pass a Medical and Drug Screening

Responsibilities

• Learn basic skills and procedures needed to be a police officer under direct guidance and close supervision.
• Perform skilled trades while attending official law enforcement classes through a POST-approved Police Academy.
• Attend formal classes in the basic law enforcement training course at a City-designated police academy to attain certification as a certified Police Officer.
• Complete weekly program components as evidenced by academy requirements and pass all related physical and academic tests and/or examinations.
• Complete additional required training in emergency vehicle operations, firearms, first aid, and any other courses required by departmental policies.
• Participate in mandatory physical fitness training.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures; any disciplinary action will result in immediate dismissal from academy training.
